League officials on Tuesday announced the time schedule for the Schuylkill League Wrestling Championships, which will be held Jan. 18 at Blue Mountain High School’s gymnasium.

The 10 teams scheduled to compete are Blue Mountain, Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, Panther Valley, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Tamaqua, Tri-Valley and Williams Valley. Jim Thorpe and Lehighton left the Schuylkill League after last season.

Action will begin at 9 a.m. with the preliminaries, followed by the championship quarterfinals at 9:45 a.m. (times approximate). The second round of consolations and championship semifinals will start at 11 a.m. The third-round consolations (Noon) and consolation semifinals (12:30 p.m.) will follow.

Matches for first, third and fifth places will be held at 2:30 p.m. on three mats.

The JV tournament will be held on one mat until conclusion, giving those wrestlers multiple matches.
