Indoor Track: Nativity’s Stank, 4×400 relay grab gold at ESU Warrior Classic

EAST STROUDSBURG — Nativity’s Michael Stank won the boys’ 400-meter dash and ran a leg on the Green Wave’s winning 4×400-meter relay at Saturday’s ESU Warrior Classic indoor track competition held at East Stroudsburg University’s Koehler Field House.

Stank, a senior, won the 400 in 52.55, almost a second faster than second-place Joseph Mendy of Kinnelon (53.51). Teammates Liam Messina (55.25) and Bo McDonald (55.87) were eighth and 11th, respectively.

Stank, Messina and McDonald then teamed with Nolan Daynorowicz to win the boys’ 4×400-meter relay in 3:38.49. Daynorowicz also took eighth in the 800 in 2:10.96

Competitors from Minersville, Nativity, Schuylkill Haven and Tamaqua participated in the indoor event. The Miners’ Paiten LaPoint was second in the boys’ 200 in 25.82, Tamaqua’s Anthony Marchetti took eighth in the boys’ 3,200 in 10:44.78 and Haven’s Ethan Kline took sixth in the boys’ shot put with a top throw of 41 feet, 11 inches.
