POTTSVILLE — Jo Barnhart scored a game-high 15 points as Pottsville knocked off Blue Mountain 40-36 in a Schuylkill League Division I girls’ basketball game Monday night at Martz Hall.
Jes Siminitus scored five of her nine points in the opening frame as the Tide took an early 12-7 lead. Barnhart then added seven in the third quarter to push Pottsville’s lead to 32-24 after three quarters before hitting three free throws late to ice it.
Keirra Jones added 10 points for Pottsville, which has won four of its last five.
Callie Peel scored 10 points for Blue Mountain, including seven in the fourth quarter, while Ruby Henninger and Makayla Keck each netted nine.
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS —- Mya Conti scored 12 of her game-high 16 points in a dominant first half as the Spartans cruised past the Panthers in a Division I game.
Hannah Kane added 14 points for North Schuylkill, which raced out to a 23-3 lead and led 34-11 at intermission.
Morgan Orsulak paced Panther Valley with nine points.
MINERSVILLE — Hollyn Sampson scored eight points in a game-opening, 19-6 run as the Cardinals defeated the Miners in a Division I game at the Thomas Fitzpatrick Gymnasium.
Sampson finished with 13 points and Meadow Umbenhauer added 10 points for Pine Grove, which led 25-11 at intermission.

Reiprish had a pair of threes in the second quarter as Lourdes used a 19-3 run to take control and build a 26-9 halftime lead.
