It was a rollercoaster week to say the least.

Pottsville (14-5) makes the jump to the No. 1 spot in T102 Sports Now Super 7 Boys’ Basketball Poll after a week that saw the Crimson Tide collect three wins as part of a seven-game winning streak. Pottsville defeated No. 2 Minersville 54-44 this past Tuesday, then North Schuylkill 65-29 on Friday and topped it off with a non-league win Saturday afternoon over Class 6A Williamsport 57-45.

And while the Tide take center stage, the Battlin’ Miners (14-3) may have made the most noise of the week. Minersville handed No. 3 Mahanoy Area (17-1) its first loss of the season 50-41 this past Friday. The Golden Bears take a trip to Martz Hall to face the Crimson Tide on Friday.

Nativity (10-7) stays put at No. 4 after wins over both No. 5 Tri-Valley and No. 6 Weatherly this past week. The Dawgs and Wreckers, like the Hilltoppers, sit in their same respective spots as last week.

Lastly, Blue Mountain (10-8) rejoins the fray after a week hiatus. The Eagles rattled off three consecutive wins this past week, including a non-league win over Schuylkill Valley. Blue Mountain needs just one win to clinch a District 11 Class 5A playoff berth.
