HS Basketball Roundup: Miners’ Castle has memorable Senior Night in win over Dawgs

MINERSVILLE — Ayla Castle had a senior night to remember Friday for the Minersville girls’ basketball team.

Castle hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points as the Miners downed Tri-Valley 64-39 in a non-league game at the Thomas Fitzpatrick Gymnasium.

Castle hit five of her 3-pointers in the third quarter, helping Minersville on a 20-10 run to take control. She also had five steals.

Alayna Boom added 15 points for Minersville, which hit 12 3-pointers as a team. Avery Miller had 19 points and Faith Artz netted 14 for Tri-Valley.
