Schuylkill League champion Schuylkill Haven rose to the top of the latest T102 Sports Now Super 7 Girls’ Basketball Poll unveiled Monday.

The Hurricanes, who were No. 4 in the last poll Feb. 3, knocked off Lourdes, Marian and North Schuylkill to capture their first-ever Schuylkill League crown Friday night. They’ll begin play in the District 11 Class 3A tournament Friday night.

League runner-up North Schuylkill is at No. 2, followed by Tamaqua, Marian, Williams Valley, Lourdes and Pine Grove.

District competition begins for area schools tonight. The next Super 7 girls’ basketball poll will appear at the end of the district playoffs.
