ALLENTOWN — Aliyah Brame buried six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points as Bethlehem Catholic rolled to a 53-28 victory over Pottsville in a District 11 Class 5A girls’ basketball semifinal Wednesday night at Executive Education Charter School.
Brame hit two 3-pointers and Delarna Jones added two more in the first quarter as the Golden Hawks built a 22-6 advantage after one period. Brame added two more in the second frame as Bethlehem Catholic led 34-14 at halftime.
Jones finished with eight points and Palin Coleman added seven for top-seeded and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference runner-up Bethlehem Catholic (16-10), which faces No. 2 Bangor in Saturday’s Class 5A championship game at 4 p.m. at Easton.
Bangor defeated Pocono Mountain East 55-42 in the other semifinal.
Jes Siminitus had nine points, while Jo Barnhart and Keirra Jones each tallied eight for Pottsville, which ends its season 8-15. The Tide went to the foul line a whopping 27 times, hitting 18.
