Nativity BVM’s Trey Keating continues to solidify his status among Pennsylvania’s basketball elite.
The junior combo guard was named to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers’ All-State Class A First Team for the second consecutive year following a standout 2024–25 season.

“Being recognized as a first-team All-Stater is at the top of my individual accomplishment list at this time in my high school basketball career,” Keating said. “There are team goals that I am focused on for my senior year (Schuylkill League, District and State Championships), but I am going to continue to work hard with Coach (Brady) Burke and Derek Flail, my trainer, to achieve these goals and the individual accomplishments will take care of themselves.”
Keating led the Schuylkill League, District 11 and all of Class A in scoring, averaging 25.7 points per game and totaling 668 points. He also led the state in free-throw percentage at 88% and ranked among the top players in several other statistical categories, including 3-pointers made (88), rebounds per game (7.7), assists (3.5), steals (2.7) and double-doubles (11). In Class 3A, Mahanoy Area seniors Jace Yedsena and Tanner Zawada were named to the All-State Third Team after leading the Golden Bears to a 21-5 record and a share of the Schuylkill League Division I title.

This marks Zawada’s third consecutive All-State honor; he was previously named to the Class AA Third Team as a sophomore and the Second Team as a junior.
Together, Yedsena and Zawada led Mahanoy Area to a 72–11 record over the past three seasons, including a 2024 Schuylkill League championship and deep runs in the District 11 playoffs. Their contributions have left a lasting legacy in the program’s history.
