PINE GROVE — Tri-Valley’s back, back in the District 11 Class A final.

For the fifth straight season.

The top-seeded Bulldogs took care of Nativity 15-0 in three innings Friday in a District 11 Class A semifinal at Pine Grove’s Susan Y. Stump Field to punch their ticket to Tuesday’s final at a site and time to be announced. Tri-Valley’s opponent will be second-seeded Marian, a 14-3 winner over Shenandoah Valley in the other semifinal.

Alina Leonard took care of the pitching for Tri-Valley, hurling a one-hit shutout and striking out seven.

At the plate, Leonard went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Tri-Valley scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back.

“We didn’t play since last Friday, and we were inside a couple days, and I gave the girls a couple days off,” Tri-Valley coach Marty Shade said. “We were getting restless, and we wanted to play so badly today, and thanks to Pine Grove’s maintenance crew, they got the field ready and did a great job. We finally got to play, and it worked out well.”

So well that the Dawgs sent 16 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning. Myah Schwalm belted a two-run double; Savanah Stiely rapped a pair of two-run singles; and Leonard smacked a two-run double during the uprising.

Cassi Snyder went 2-for-2 with a stolen base and two run scored out of the leadoff spot for Tri-Valley. Kora Rodichock doubled and scored three runs for the Dawgs.
