TREMONT — The District 24 Little League Tournament will kick off Friday, June 13, with three games in the 9-11-year-old division.

Brackets for all three divisions were selected during Thursday’s tournament meeting at the Tremont Fire Company. There will be 10 teams in the Major Division (10-12), seven teams in the 9-11 bracket and 11 teams in the 8-10-year-old field.

The Major Division and 8-10 tournament will be broken into two pools, with the pool winner getting a bye into the semifinals and the next four teams with the best record (regardless of pool) will qualify for the playoffs. The top four teams in the seven-team 9-11 tournament qualify for the semifinals.

The championship game for the 9-11 tournament will be Tuesday, July 1, with the title games for both the Major Division and 8-10 bracket set for Sunday, July 6.

Blue Mountain is the defending champion in the Major Division. Tri-Valley won last year’s 9-11 crown, while Ashland took top honors in the 8-10 bracket.

Pottsville will host this year’s Section 3 Tournament on July 7-10 at Rotary Field.
