Schuylkill Girls’ Youth Softball League crowns champions

MAHANOY CITY — The Schuylkill Girls’ Youth Softball League recently held its playoffs for the 10u and 12u divisions at the Mahanoy City Girls’ Softball Fields.
The Frackville Girls’ Softball League had three of the six teams competing in the semifinals and three of the four playing in the championship games.
In the 10u semifinals, the undefeated No. 1 seed in the North Division, Frackville Fury Blue, defeated the No. 2 seed in the South Division, Schuylkill Haven Navy; and the undefeated No. 1 seed in the South Division, Pine Grove Red Lion Café, downed the No. 2 seed in the North Division, Shamokin.
In the championship game, Pine Grove Red Lion Café pulled out the win, handing Frackville Fury Blue its first loss of the season.
On the 12u side, No. 1 Frackville Fury Blue topped Schuylkill Haven Navy and No. 2 Frackville Fury Red beat Pine Grove Beer Mountain Distributors in the semifinals.
In the championship game, Frackville Fury Blue downed Frackville Fury Red to bring home the Schuylkill League championship.
