MAHANOY CITY — Meggan Yedsena thrilled local fans during her high school basketball playing days at Mahanoy Area in the late 1980s and early ’90s, sparking a career that led her to the University of Nebraska and the pro ranks.

Yedsena remains one of the all-time leading girls’ scorers in Pennsylvania, compiling 2,751 points from 1986-90. A two-time, first-team All-State guard, Yedsena guided Mahanoy Area to a pair of PIAA Class A state championships in 1988 and 1989. She was inducted into the District 11 Hall of Fame in 2024.

Yedsena is returning to Schuylkill County to team with her nephew, recent Mahanoy Area graduate and Susquehanna commit Jace Yedsena, to host a pair of basketball camps for boys’ and girls’ players in August at Mahanoy Area High School.

The camps are called the “Yedsena Hoops 2025 Summer Ballin’ B-Ball Clinics” and will be held Monday-Thursday, Aug. 4-7, for boys and girls entering grades 1-6; and Monday-Thursday, Aug. 11-14, for boys and girls entering grades 7-12. The camps are open to any interested players in the Schuylkill County area.

The camps are limited to 60 players per camp. A flyer is included below for more details.
