HS Football: Week 2 rewind, Schuylkill-Colonial scores, standings

Week 2 of the local high school football season brought a few surprises, but for the most part the favorites rolled in dominating fashion.
Schuylkill League schools Marian, Minersville, Nativity, North Schuylkill, Schuylkill Haven and Williams Valley remained unbeaten at 2-0 with victories. Colonial League squads Catasauqua, Northwestern Lehigh, Notre-Dame-Green Pond, Palisades, Pen Argyl and Southern Lehigh also improved to 2-0.
The Schuylkill-Colonial schedule begins Thursday when Bangor visits Northwestern Lehigh. A Red Division/White Division crossover game between North Schuylkill and Notre Dame-Green Pond is the headliner of this week’s slate, while Palisades visits Catasauqua and Nativity treks to Williams Valley in a pair of divisional matchups pitting 2-0 teams.
