HS Soccer: Schuylkill Haven boys knock off Tri-Valley in OT

Schuylkill Haven 2, Tri-Valley 1 (OT)
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Greyson Murphy scored in the first overtime period to lift Schuylkill Haven over Tri-Valley on Thursday in a Schuylkill League Division II showdown at Rotary Field.
Murphy also assisted on Grayson Fessler’s first-half goal, which gave the Hurricanes (2-4, 2-1 D-II) a 1-0 lead.
Still in the first half, Tri-Valley (3-2, 2-1) got the equalizer when Nathan Hillard scored off an assist by Brody Wolfgang.
Elliot Wehr made six saves for Schuylkill Haven; Brayden Leese stopped five shots for Tri-Valley.
Lourdes 4, Pottsville 0
SHAMOKIN — Brody Brinkash and Sam Schauer had one goal and one assist apiece to lead Lourdes past Pottsville in a Division I match.
Majed Kanafani and Orrin Mariano also scored for the Red Raiders (2-2, 2-1 D-I).
Nathan Yablonski made 16 saves to post the shutout in goal. Landon Trout (4 saves) and Austin Strokelitus (2 saves) played in goal for the Crimson Tide (2-3, 1-2).
Lourdes won the JV match 1-0.
Minersville 6, Weatherly 1
WEATHERLY — Chase Zimerofsky netted a pair of goals as Minersville downed Weatherly in a Division II game shortened by stormy weatherly.
Evan Handling, Jordan Bowers, Zack Seddon and Shane Fessler also found the back of the net for the Battlin’ Miners (4-2).
GIRLS
NW Lehigh 3, Blue Mountain 0
ORWIGSBURG — Makaela Yanders, Juliet Snyder and Sophia Schaffer netted goals for Northwestern Lehigh in a non-league win over Blue Mountain at the Eagles’ Nest.
Karley Koch made seven saves for Blue Mountain (3-1).
Northwestern Lehigh, the defending state champion, improved to 5-0. The Tigers have not allowed a goal all season.
