HS Soccer: Pine Grove boys shut out Lourdes

Pine Grove 2, Lourdes 0
PINE GROVE — Peyton Renninger made six saves to preserve Pine Grove’s Schuylkill League Division I victory over Lourdes on Thursday at Cardinal Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, Tanner Kolb netted the first goal for Pine Grove (7-2, 5-1 D-I). Later, Kyran Buckner, assisted by Terrin Witmer, added an insurance goal.
Nathan Yablonski made five saves for Lourdes (3-4, 3-2).
The Red Raiders won the JV match 1-0.
Tri-Valley 3, Minersville 2
HEGINS — Nate Hillard had two goals and an assist in a wild second half as Tri-Valley held off Minersville in a Division II match.
After a scoreless 40 minutes, Tyler Mowery got the Bulldogs (6-3, 4-1 D-II) on the board with a goal assisted by Hillard. Then Hilliard scored twice to make it 3-0. Back came Minersville (5-3, 2-2) getting two goals from Jordan Bowers before the Miners ran out of time.
Brayden Leese made 11 saves for Tri-Valley; Robert McGrath stopped four shots for the Miners.
Halifax 6, Williams Valley 1
HALIFAX — Elijah Smith scored off an assist from Ethan Lebo for Williams Valley in a non-league loss to Halifax.
Caleb Spotts netted a pair of goals for the Wildcats (4-2-1), who led 3-0 at halftime.
Xzavion Tennis made 21 saves for the Vikings (1-5). Blake Burkholder stopped four shots for Halifax.
GIRLS
Twin Valley 5, Schuylkill Haven 4
ELVERSON — Ava Terefencko netted a pair of goals for Schuylkill Haven, but Twin Valley edged the Hurricanes in a non-league match.
Kylie Siket and Taylor Haag added one goal and one assist apiece for Schuylkill Haven (4-2-1). Audrey Hutchinson assisted on Haag’s goal.
Emily Boyer’s natural hat trick keyed the win for Twin Valley (5-3).
Ally Becker made eight saves for the Hurricanes; Lauren Williams stopped seven shots for the Raiders.
Minersville 1, Pine Grove 1 (tie)
PINE GROVE — Hope Motuk’s second-half goal tied the game for Minersville as the Battlin’ Miners and Pine Grove battled to a double-overtime draw in a non-league game. Motuk connected on a shot to the high left corner of the goal.
Hannah Aungst gave the Cardinals (3-2-1) a 1-0 halftime lead when she scored from 25 yards out.
Pine Grove led 10-6 in shots on goal. Bella Rizzardi made nine saves for Minersville (6-1-2). Alyssa Moyer stopped five shots for Pine Grove.
