Minersville 4, North Schuylkill 0
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Hope Motuk netted two goals and assisted on another as Minersville shut out North Schuylkill in a non-league girls’ soccer match.
Kloee Horoschak added one goal and one assist for the Miners (7-1-2). Grace Sterner scored at 45:43 to double Minersville’s 1-0 halftime lead to 2-0.
Bella Rizzardi made six saves for Minersville. Keira Wengrenovich stopped six shots for the Spartans (4-6).
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Pine Grove 3, Minersville 0
PINE GROVE — Bella Kassab hit four kills and five aces to lead Pine Grove past Minersville 25-10, 25-9, 25-14 on Saturday in a non-league match.
Lily Flynn added four kills and two aces, while Graycie Griffiths hit six aces for the Cardinals (6-2).
For Minersville (1-9), Bella Cruz had two assists and two digs; Aliyah Webster made three digs; and Caty Ilsley contributed three kills and three blocks.
Pine Grove won JV 2-0.
Halifax 3, Williams Valley 1
TOWER CITY — Naomi Carl set a Williams Valley record for career aces, but Halifax took the non-league match 25-15, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23.
Carl finished with eight aces, giving her a school-record 156. She added four kills, four service points and 11 digs for the Vikings (4-3). Also for Williams Valley, Emily Miller had four kills and 24 digs, and Emma Reinoehl contributed 19 assists and 10 digs.
Williams Valley won JV 2-1.
South Williamsport 3, Lourdes 2
SHAMOKIN — Maddie Wertman had nine kills and three blocks for Lourdes, but South Williamsport rallied past the Red Raiders 17-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-8, 15-6 in non-league action.
Bella Cherry added 27 digs and three aces, while Bella Hudick compiled six aces, four kills and 16 digs for Lourdes (1-9).
South Williamsport won JV 2-0.
Weatherly 3, Executive Education 1
WEATHERLY — Abby Weston had 10 service points, 31 assists, two aces and three digs as Weatherly defeated Executive Education 25-21, 15-25, 26-24, 25-22 on Friday for its first victory of the season.
Other key players for the Wreckers (1-7) included Abigail Binder, three service points, three aces, seven kills and 14 digs; and Kelly Reiner, 10 service points, two aces, four kills and nine digs.
