Seven Schuylkill League boys’ soccer teams and eight girls’ squads will begin quests for District 11 gold when the district postseason tournament begins Monday.

On the boys’ side, Schuylkill League champion Blue Mountain (17-3) and Division II champion Minersville (15-4) earned top seeds in their respective brackets — the Eagles in Class 3A and the Miners in Class A.

Colonial League champion Northwestern Lehigh (20-1) and EPC winner Emmaus (17-1-3) are the top seeds in Class AA and 4A, respectively.

It was a similar story on the girls’ side, as the Schuylkill League champion Eagles (17-3) were No. 1 in Class 3A and Minersville (14-3-2) was the top seed in Class A.

Colonial League champion Northwestern Lehigh (21-0) and EPC winner Parkland (17-3-1) are the top seeds in Class AA and 4A, respectively.

The tournament begins Monday night with the following games involving local teams:

** Class 3A boys’ quarterfinals, Pottsville at Wilson Area, 3:45 p.m.

** Class AA girls’ first round, North Schuylkill at Palmerton, 7 p.m.

The bulk of the tournament begins Wednesday and Thursday, with championship games slated for Wednesday, Oct. 29, and Thursday, Oct. 30.
