HS Basketball: Haven squads roll, Shenandoah Valley and Lourdes girls’ shine in Monday action

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Alan Evans and Justin Watcher delivered when it mattered most.
The Hurricanes’ duo lifted Schuylkill Haven to a 73-68 non-league victory over Hamburg on Monday evening at the CACL Complex.
Evans scored a game-high 24 points, knocking down four 3-pointers and consistently answering every push, while Watcher added 21 points and three triples. The pair combined for 45 points, setting the offensive tone and steadying Haven through every momentum swing.
Schuylkill Haven trailed early but found its rhythm in the second quarter behind improved defensive pressure and timely perimeter shooting. The Hurricanes carried that balance into the second half, matching Hamburg basket for basket before closing it out at the free-throw line.
Brady Kelly added 14 points and Bradyn Diehl chipped in 12 for Schuylkill Haven.

ALLENTOWN — Mahanoy Area battled to the final possession but came up just short against Lincoln Leadership in a tightly contested non-league matchup.
Connor Bowman led the Bears with 15 points, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers, while Cam Smith added 13. Yobiel Perez chipped in 12 points and three triples as Mahanoy Area closed the gap late after trailing most of the evening.
The Bears were held to just five points in the second quarter, a stretch that ultimately proved costly, though they outscored Lincoln Leadership 19-15 in the fourth to make it a one-possession game in the final minute.

LEWISBURG — Trey Keating continued his strong stretch with a game-high 24 points, but Nativity couldn’t keep pace with Lewisburg in a non-league setback Saturday afternoon.
Keating knocked down four 3-pointers and accounted for nearly half of the Hilltoppers’ offense, while Layne Parker and Owen Holley added seven points apiece. Nativity stayed within striking distance at halftime before Lewisburg used a strong third quarter to create separation.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

SHENANDOAH — Aubrie Monaghan set the tone early and never let up as Shenandoah Valley rolled past Tri-Valley in Schuylkill League Division II action.
Monaghan finished with a game-high 18 points, knocking down four 3-pointers to power a dominant first half that saw the Blue Devils race out to a commanding lead.
Litzy Salguero and Jocelyn Chagolla added nine points apiece as Shenandoah Valley built a 24-point advantage after one quarter.
Tri-Valley struggled to find offensive rhythm against Shenandoah’s pressure. Avery Miller led the Lady Dawgs with four points, all coming at the foul line.

McKenna Runkle added 16 points, giving the Hurricanes a reliable second scoring option throughout the night.
Schuylkill Haven used a decisive second quarter to take control and held Hamburg to just seven points in the second half.

Lourdes outscored Mifflinburg 18-8 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory and remain unbeaten.
