ORWIGSBURG — Blue Mountain’s boys’ tennis team is primed to climb the District 11 ladder this spring.

In 2025, the young Eagles experienced some success at the district team and individual tournaments.

Now, they’re back and ready for more.

Blue Mountain returns seven of its top nine players from last year ‘s 9-7 squad that defeated Pen Argyl in the quarterfinals and fell to three-time defending champion Moravian Academy in the semifinals of the District 11 Class AA Team Tennis Tournament.

Juniors Evan Burcik and Dylan Knittle grew at the district individual level as well. Burcik reached the singles quarterfinals, then teamed with Knittle to place third in district doubles.

Sophomore Elias Eichert plays No. 3 singles, while seniors Vinny DiSante and Camren Watters and sophomore Evan Bixler are returning letterwinners to fill out the singles lineup in 5-2 matches and team up for doubles in the 3-2 format.

Pottsville also returns several players from last year’s team in Everett Walters, Eli Gerhart, Tyler Sibbett, Jake Powers and Spencer Prestileo as the Crimson Tide look to become more competitive on all levels of the ladder.
