Eagles, Miners, Green Wave add Schuylkill League victories
POTTSVILLE — Alexa Giuffre-Cuculletto had a breakout campaign in 2025, highlighted by three gold medals and two records at the Schuylkill League championships and a seventh-place finish in the long jump at the PIAA Track and Field Championships.
If Tuesday was any indication, the Pottsville senior has big things ahead of her again in 2026.
Giuffre-Coculletto won four events Tuesday as the Crimson Tide downed Tamaqua 79-71 in their Schuylkill League Division I opener at Veterans Stadium.
Giuffre-Coculletto took first in the 100-meter hurdles, 300 hurdles, long jump and triple jump as Pottsville (1-0, 1-0 D-I) overcame a Tamaqua sweep of the relays.
Jes Siminitus (100), Takiera Curry (200), and Teagan Hart (3200) added track wins for the Crimson Tide, while Maggie Brennan (shot put) and Gabby Mazola (javelin) captured field events. Pottsville used a big advantage in the field events to outlast the Blue Raiders, sweeping the triple jump and javelin and placing 1-2 in the long jump and shot put.
