HERNDON — One inning can certainly change everything.
Tri-Valley broke open a tight game with a seven-run outburst in the top of the seventh inning to pull away from Line Mountain 12-6 on the road in a non-league baseball contest on Monday.
The Dawgs set the tone early, getting on the board in the first on a triple by Jason Stewart before adding three more in the third on a home run from Braeden Doyle to build a 5-1 lead.
Line Mountain chipped away and stayed within striking distance, closing the gap to 5-3 entering the final inning.

That’s when Tri-Valley delivered the knockout blow. The Dawgs strung together five hits in the seventh, highlighted by RBI singles from Gavin Scheib, Gavin Klock, Owen Miller and Riley Kaslavage, turning a close contest into a comfortable lead.
Doyle finished with three RBIs, while Scheib and Jack Wehry each collected two hits as part of Tri-Valley’s 10-hit attack. Miller earned the win on the mound, allowing one run over four innings.
Line Mountain managed six hits, with Kaden Dunkelberger and Jaxtyn Thomas each collecting two, but couldn’t withstand the Dawgs’ late surge.
