Lily Brown, Mahanoy Area

MAHANOY CITY — Yaviel Vega, Yoibel Perez, Leviy Peralta and Sonny Seritti each won two events as Mahanoy Area defeated Panther Valley and Weatherly in a Schuylkill League Division II boys’ track and field meet Thursday at Alumni Stadium.

The Golden Bears defeated Panther Valley 95-39 and Weatherly 95-33.

Vega took first in the 200 meters and long jump; Perez won the 400 and triple jump; Peralta captured the 800 and 1600; and Seritti swept the hurdles. Quinton Rucker (100), Nicholas Manley (3200), Connor Bowman (high jump) and Kyler Quick (javelin) added victories for Mahanoy Area.

Chance Stauffer placed first in the shot put for Weatherly, while Carlos Maldonado won the discus for Panther Valley.

MAHANOY CITY — The Golden Bears used a dominating performance on the track to down the Panthers and Wreckers in a Division II tri-meet at Alumni Stadium.

Urijah Fazio took first in the 100 and 200 and Lily Brown swept the hurdles for the Golden Bears, who won six of the eight track races and captured all three relays.

Morgan Orsulak won three times for Panther Valley, taking first in all three jumps.

Kelly Reiner did the same for Weatherly, placing first in all three throws.

Lexi Kehler was also a double-winner for the Wreckers, winning the 800 and 1600.
