HS Softball: Schuylkill Haven defeats Nativity

POTTSVILLE — Aisley Jenan and Octavia Houvig smacked three hits apiece as Schuylkill Haven turned back Nativity 12-3 on Friday in a Schuylkill League Division II softball game atop Lawton’s Hill.
Jenan went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Houvig posted a 3-for-4 day with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.


The Hurricanes jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Nativity scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning and pushed the game through all seven innings.
Lauren Clark rapped an RBI single for the Golden Girls. Kyra Krapf added a 2-for-4 day with an RBI.

Alli Scherer, Joie Schoffstall, Danica Snyder and Braelynn Strenkoski delivered RBI singles during Schuylkill Haven’s five-run third inning.
Lexi Mull finished 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI for the Hurricanes. Scherer went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Strenkoski drove in two runs.

SHENANDOAH — Aubrie Monaghan had a big day in the circle and at the plate to lead Shenandoah Valley to a non-league victory over Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg at Bicentennial Park.


Monaghan pitched a one-hitter, striking out four and walking two in the three-inning game. She sparked the offense by going 2-for-2 with a double, a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs.
Zoey Zulkowski added a 2-for-2 day with a double, three runs and one RBI for the Blue Devils. Jocelyn Chagolla went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
