Owen Mentzer, North Schuylkill

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Owen Mentzer won a pair of individual events and swim on a winning relay to lift North Schuylkill to an 87-71 victory over Schuylkill Haven in a Schuylkill League boys’ swimming dual meet Tuesday.

Mentzer took first in the 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Spartans (8-4, 7-4 SL). Tyler Heidelbaugh (200 free), Brendan Fetterolf (200 IM) and Fabrizio Mangianello (500 free) added individual wins.

Ethan Miller (100 fly, 100 breast) was a double-winner for Schuylkill Haven (6-9, 5-7), while Colton McClusky won the 50 free and the Hurricanes took two relays.

Both teams have a dual meet remaining. Schuylkill Haven travels to Mount Carmel in a non-league meet Thursday, while North Schuylkill hosts Marian on Feb. 12.

 SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Keira Blozousky (200 free), Annabelle Bennett (diving), Elizabeth Nahodil (500 free) and Katelyn Nahodil (100 breast) scored individual wins as the Spartans outlasted the Hurricanes in a Schuylkill League dual meet.

Schuylkill Haven (6-9, 4-8) won seven of the 12 events as Hope Stauffer (50 free, 100 fly) and Allison Scherer (200 IM, 100 back) each won twice and Cali Stauffer claimed the 100 freestyle.

The Spartans (7-4-1, 6-4-1) took control when Elizabeth Nahodil led a 1-2-3 finish in the 500 freestyle. North Schuylkill iced it by placing first and second in the final event, the 400 freestyle relay.
