MINERSVILLE — Tri-Valley left little doubt by the end.

The Dawgs erupted early and continued to pile on as Tri-Valley rolled past Shenandoah Valley 17-4 in the championship game of the annual Russ Rothermel Memorial Tournament at Del Hauck Field, successfully defending last year’s title on Saturday.

After the Blue Devils grabbed an early lead, Tri-Valley answered with a four-run third inning and never looked back. The Dawgs added five more runs in the fourth and continued to pile on behind an aggressive approach on the basepath.

Braeden Doyle earned the win, while also collecting two hits at the plate. Owen Miller and Jack Wehry each drove in three runs as Tri-Valley racked up nine hits and drew 12 walks.

Jason Stewart added a triple and helped spark multiple rallies, even during the frigid temperatures.

Chase McCole led Shenandoah Valley with two hits and two RBIs, but the Blue Devils couldn’t keep pace as Tri-Valley took control early and never let up.
