BOYS

Minersville 3, Pottsville 2

MINERSVILLE — Aidan Ryan, assisted by Dakota Dullard, scored the game-winning goal in the second half as Minersville rallied past Pottsville on Monday in a non-league boys’ soccer match.

Pottsville (5-5-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind first-half-goals by Brogan Rooney and Jayden Hossler.

Chase Zimerofsky, assisted by Pierce Eichenberg, and Jordan Bowers netted goals to tie the match 2-2 at halftime. Ryan completed the comeback in the second half, and Minersville (9-3) held on for the win.

Landon Trout made 10 saves for Pottsville. Dylan Haslam stopped seven shots for the Battlin’ Miners.

Schuylkill Haven 2, Lehighton 1

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Daniel Fanelli and Grayson Fessler netted goals to give Schuylkill Haven a 2-0 lead, and the Hurricanes went on to defeat Lehighton in a non-league match.

Chase Lobasso scored for the Indians to cut the deficit to 2-1 at halftime, but Schuylkill Haven’s defense held up throught the final 40 minutes.

Both teams had five shots on goal. Elliot Wehr made four saves for the Hurricanes (5-5); C.J. Strohl stopped three shots for Lehighton (1-10).

North Schuylkill 5, Williams Valley 1

FOUNTAIN SPRINGS — Brenden Yotko and John Walsh had two goals apiece to propel North Schuylkill to a non-league victory over Williams Valley.

Hunter Grohol scored the other goal for the Spartans (5-6), who led 3-0 at halftime.

Collin Berger, assisted by Christian Davis, scored for the Vikings (2-10).

Xzavion Tennis made 13 saves for Williams Valley; Braiden Davis collected six stops for North Schuylkill.

Southern Columbia 7, Tri-Valley 0

CATAWISSA RR — Brayden Leese made 11 saves as Tri-Valley (7-5) dropped a non-league match to Southern Columbia.

GIRLS

Blue Mountain 3, Pine Grove 0

ORWIGSBURG — Kelly Canfield, Riley Fogarty and Kiera Nunemacher scored single goals to lead Blue Mountain past Pine Grove in a Division I match.

Kendall Koch and Addie Warke added one assist apiece for the Eagles (8-2, 8-0 D-I), who led 1-0 at halftime.

Karley Koch made one save for the shutout in goal. Alyssa Moyer made nine saves for Pine Grove (5-5-1, 4-4).

Pottsville 5, Shenandoah Valley 0

SHENANDOAH — Jes Siminitus scored three goals and dished out one assist to lead Pottsville past Shenandoah Valley in a Division I match.

Siminitus, assisted by Megan Goodman, got the Crimson Tide (7-4, 7-1 D-I) on the board just 2:36 into the match. Siminitus scored unassisted at 9:38, and Bella Wright buried a penalty kick at 18:10 as Pottsville took control. Wright, assisted by Siminitus, scored again at 42:57, and Siminitus capped the scoring with her hat trick at 54:18.

Rose Russell and Lucy Dougherty shared the shutout in goal, making no saves because Pottsville outshot the Blue Devils 21-0. Emilee Pinkey made 16 saves for Shenandoah Valley (3-7, 1-7).

Tamaqua 1, North Schuylkill 0

TAMAQUA — Gabby Chistakoff scored the only goal of the match with 7:52 left in the second half to lift Tamaqua to a Division I win over North Schuylkill.

Shaylee Gormley and Katie Fredericks assisted on the goal for the Blue Raiders (5-5, 3-4 D-I).

Ceanna Gormley made 19 saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season. Keira Wengrenovich made nine saves for the Spartans (4-8, 4-4).

Tri-Valley 6, Lourdes 2

HEGINS — Maggie Hoffman-Long led the way with three goals and two assists as Tri-Valley cruised past Lourdes in a Division II match.

Kiara Smeltz added three assists for the Bulldogs (4-7, 3-3 D-II). Kylie Tietsworth, Cambrie Herb and Allie Pennypacker scored single goals for Tri-Valley.

Karmen Schroyer and Olivia Gamble had one goal apiece for Lourdes (2-10, 1-5).

Sophia Holt made six saves for the Dawgs; Sierra Baloris stopped 16 shots for the Red Raiders.

Schuylkill Haven 4, Williams Valley 0

WILLIAMSTOWN — Taylor Haag scored three goals to spark Schuylkill Haven to a Division II victory over Williams Valley.

Kylie Siket added one goal and one assist, and Ava Terefencko dished out two assists for the Hurricanes (7-3-1, 5-0-1 D-II).

Ally Becker made two saves to earn the shutout for Schuylkill Haven. Megan Perhach stopped 18 shots for the Vikings (5-6, 3-3).
