Schuylkill Haven, Williams Valley and Minersville remained among the top Class AA teams in the state and Tri-Valley earned some recognition in Class A in this week’s PennLive.com state high school football rankings.

The Hurricanes (8-0) stayed at No. 1 in Class AA for the eighth straight week after their blowout win over Pine Grove, while Williams Valley (7-1) remained No. 6 after the Vikings pounded Marian 56-10. Minersville (6-2), which blanked Nativity 34-0, is still a Team to Watch in Class AA.

Tri-Valley (6-2) joined the Teams to Watch in the Class A for the first time.

In the Schuylkill-Colonial Cooperative, Southern Lehigh remained No. 1 in Class 4A ahead of Shamokin, which climbed to No. 2 after No. 2 Bonner-Prendie and No. 3 Wyomissing lost this week. Northwestern Lehigh and Notre Dame-Green Pond are ranked 2-3 in Class 3A.
