SAINT CLAIR — Schuylkill Haven continued to look every bit like a championship contender.

The Hurricanes continued their dominant run Friday night, rolling past Nativity 57-0 in a Schuylkill-Colonial Blue Division matchup at Saint Clair’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Schuylkill Haven fired on all cylinders — combining relentless defense, explosive touchdowns and non-stop energy from start to finish — the same formula that has defined their season.

Schuylkill Haven head coach Mike Farr was pleased with his team’s effort and focus.

“Our energy really stood out,” Farr said. “We knew we had to take care of business, and all phases of the game went really well.”

Haven wasted no time taking control, jumping out to a 16-0 lead just one minute into the game on two touchdowns by Niko Castillo — a 50-yard run followed by a 5-yard pass from Max Heim after a Nativity fumble.

Colton Reber then added touchdown runs of 34 and 65 yards to extend the lead before Castillo capped the first quarter with a 58-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Max Heim. Schuylkill Haven led 37-0 after one.

The Hurricanes made it 51-0 at halftime on a pair of touchdowns by Reber. The first was an 85-yard quick pass from Heim and the second was a 33-yard run.

Schuylkill Haven’s final touchdown came in the second half when freshman Wyatt Gerber broke loose for a 23-yard touchdown run.

Farr noted that the matchup also provided valuable opportunities to fine-tune the passing game and get younger players involved.

“We wanted to get some work in through the air, and I thought our JVs played really well,” he said.

Schuylkill Haven’s defense was nearly flawless, holding Nativity to just 52 yards of total offense — 38 of which came on the Green Wave’s final possession of the game. It marked the Hurricanes’ fourth shutout of the season.

Colt Mason paced Nativity with 37 rushing yards on nine attempts, but the Hilltoppers couldn’t sustain drives against Haven’s aggressive front.

Despite the lopsided win, Farr emphasized the importance of continued improvement.

“There are still things we’re working on,” Farr said. “We haven’t played our complete game yet. We just need to keep getting better every week. We have the pieces in all phases — we just need to be successful at it.”

With the victory, the Hurricanes improved to 9-0 for the first time since 2016 and will aim for their first perfect regular season since 2008 when they host Tri-Valley next Friday at Rotary Field. Nativity (4-5) will close out its regular season on the road at Marian Catholic.
