A pair of Colonial League football teams will play for state championships next weekend at Cumberland Valley High School.

Northwestern Lehigh returned to the PIAA Class 3A final for the third straight season with a 48-13 rout of District 3 champion Trinity on Friday. The Tigers (15-0), winners of 31 straight games, face Avonworth in a rematch of last year’s final.

Southern Lehigh advanced to the PIAA Class 4A final with a 28-24 win over Cardinal O’Hara. Sean Steckert’s TD run with 31 seconds left was the game-winner. The Spartans (14-1) will take on District 3 champion Twin Valley for the state title Thursday evening at Cumberland Valley.
