HOMETOWN — It all came down to the final moments of regulation.
Schuylkill Haven survived a frantic finish Tuesday night, getting a clutch 3-pointer from Alan Evans and late free throws from Max Heim to edge Marian 56-53 in a Schuylkill League Division II boys’ basketball game.
With the Hurricanes trailing by one in the closing seconds, Evans stepped up and drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer with approximately 8.0 remaining to give Haven a 54-53 lead. Marian was forced to foul on the ensuing possession, and Heim calmly knocked down two free throws with 3.8 left to extend the advantage to three.

Marian’s final look wouldn’t fall, allowing Schuylkill Haven to escape with the three-point win.
Brady Kelly led the Hurricanes with 17 points, while Heim finished with 16 and Evans added nine, including the game-deciding triple.
Jimmy Cannon paced Marian with 12 points, Gregory Tirpak scored 11, and both De La Cruz brothers added 10 apiece for the Colts, who rallied late but came up just short.
