Minersville/Penn State
39 years experience

For 55 years and counting, Schuylkill County has been his home. A 1987 graduate of Minersville Area High School and a 1991 graduate of Penn State, he has had the honor and pleasure of spending his career covering the triumphs of thousands of athletes across a myriad of sports, both near and far. He began covering sports in 1988 and is still going strong. In his younger days, he was an athlete himself, competing in baseball and wrestling in high school and playing football and basketball as a youngster.

As one might imagine, he is a huge sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies. His grandfather, who hailed from Shenandoah, took him to his first Phillies game at Veterans Stadium on a church bus trip when he was just five years old — and the rest is history. As a boy, he developed a love for sports media by reading baseball box scores and news with his grandfather in the Shenandoah Evening Herald.

He is a die-hard Penn State fan and roots for the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL. He also loves tennis and has been a supporter of Rafael Nadal from Day One. His other hobbies include reading, astronomy, history and walking.

He remains very close to his only brother, Mike, his wife Mindy, his nephew Zach and his niece Becca.

His passion for sports began early, but it truly took shape in his teenage years after meeting Ed Beneshunas on the sidelines of a Pottsville football game — a moment that sparked his interest in sports broadcasting. He first stepped into the field in 2006 with a sideline interview during Pottsville’s state title run, and in 2022 he officially launched his broadcasting career on the same sidelines where it all started.

Inspired by broadcasting legends Harry Kalas and Bob Uecker, he brings their passion and storytelling spirit to every call. Outside the booth, he enjoys sporting events, concerts, video games, collecting sports memorabilia, and spending time with friends and family. He proudly supports the Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles, Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
