POTTSVILLE — Noah Mateyak drained three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points as Tamaqua surged past Nativity 75-56 in a non-league boys’ basketball game Saturday evening atop Lawton’s Hill.
Luke Kane added 14 points and Cooper Ansbach had 13 for Tamaqua, which closed the game on a 23-10 run.
Trey Keating paced Nativity with 24 points, scoring 20 of his points in the middle frames. Noah Dolbin netted 14.

MINERSVILLE — Chase Zimerofsky paced a trio of double-digit scorers with 13 points as Minersville ran past Williams Valley in a non-league game at the Thomas Fitzpatrick Gymnasium.
Shazier Bethea and Dante Carr each added 12 points for Minersville, which broke the game open with a 26-7 run in the second quarter. Zimerofsky had three of the Miners’ 12 3-pointers.
Brady Shomper led Williams Valley with 10 points.

Grace also shot 6-of-8 from the foul line, leading a 17-for-20 effort by Blue Mountain at the stripe. Tyeirre Meade added 14 points and Chase Baldwin netted 13 for the Eagles, who used a 15-9, second-quarter run to take control.

HAMBURG — Ty Werley made seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 40 points as the Hawks downed the Cardinals in a non-league game atop Hawk Hill.
Werley became only the second player in Hamburg history to reach 40 points in a game twice; he’s one of four players to accomplish the feat in school history. His performance included an 11-for-11 outing at the foul line, going 10-of-10 in the second half.
Quinn Brommer scored 19 points for Pine Grove, while Wyatt Snyder added 12 and Teagan Schneck-Haines tallied 10. The Cardinals led 33-32 at halftime before being outscored 21-8 in the third quarter.

Smeltz had five points in a 15-6, second-quarter run that put Williams Valley ahead to stay. Mallory Miller added 11 points for the Vikes, shooting 6-for-6 from the foul line.
Ayla Schneck-Haines led Pine Grove with eight points.
