Notre Dame football coach visits Schuylkill County

MCADOO — Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman made a trip to the area Wednesday as part of an event hosted by the Notre Dame Club of Schuylkill County.

Capriotti’s in McAdoo hosted the event at which attendees got to meet the coach, take photos and receive autographs. Freeman then spoke to the group in a private session.

Freeman led the Fighting Irish to the College Football Playoff national championship game last season before falling to Ohio State 34-23. In the semifinals, Notre Dame defeated Penn State 27-24 in the Orange Bowl.

Notre Dame opens the 2025 season Aug. 31 at Miami (Fla.). The Irish also play at the University of Pittsburgh on Nov. 15.
