HS Softball: Nativity splits pair of games

POTTSVILLE — Lauren Clark enjoyed a career game to power Nativity past Shenandoah Valley 20-5 in four innings on Saturday in a Schuylkill League Division II softball game atop Lawton’s Hill.

Clark went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and nine RBIs for Nativity, which scored 11 runs in the second inning.

Chloe Covell also had a big day for Nativity, going 4-for-5 with a double, four stolen bases, four runs scored and three RBIs. Emmajoan Fox went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Addison Rickard went 1-for-1 with two runs and three RBIs.

Covell went the distance in the circle, allowing just three hits while striking out four.

For Shenandoah Valley, Aubrie Monaghan went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.

POTTSVILLE — Kayla Birrer pitched five innings, striking out 10 and walking none, to lead Marian to a six-inning, Schuylkill League Division II victory over Nativity atop Lawton’s Hill.

Malina Letcher powered the Fillies’ offense by going 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Other top hitters for Marian included DeAnna Pugh, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored; Gracie Sendatch, 2-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs; Hailey Treskolasky, 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and one RBI; and Danica Karlick, 2-for-4 with a a run scored and three RBIs.
