HS Football Roundup: Carr leads Miners past Halifax, Catty blanks Mahanoy

HALIFAX — Dante Carr threw for two touchdowns and ran for two others as Minersville opened its season with a 35-13 road victory at Halifax.
Brandon Adams got the Miners off on the right foot with a 27-yard interception return on Halifax’s first possession, giving Minersville a 7-0 lead 46 seconds into the game.
Carr then connected with Ty Atkinson for 28 yards in the second quarter and Paiten LaPoint for 26 yards in the third quarter.
The UCF commit put the game with a 36-yard TD run in the third quarter and an 11-yard scamper in the fourth.
Halifax’s two touchdowns came on a pass on the final play of the first half and a 16-yard scoring strike 13 seconds into the fourth quarter.
