HS Girls’ Soccer: Blue Mountain shuts out North Schuylkill

Blue Mountain 5, North Schuylkill 0
ORWIGSBURG — Gianna Chipriano notched one goal and one assist Tuesday to lead Blue Mountain to a Schuylkill League Division I girls’ soccer victory over North Schuylkill (0-2, 0-1 D-I).
Lexi Waschko, Kyleigh Batory, Addie Warke and Ella Smith added one goal apiece for the Eagles (1-0, 1-0). Hailey Scheuer, Kendall Koch and Riley Fogarty had assists. Waschko and Batory scored in the first half to give Blue Mountain a two-goal lead at intermission.
Karley Koch, Alanza Smith and Emmerson Frie combined on the shutout in goal.
Pine Grove 7, Shenandoah Valley 0
SHENANDOAH — Gianna Pompei had two goals and one assist as Pine Grove cruised past Shenandoah Valley in a Division I match.
Meadow Umbenhauer added one goal and two assists, while Hannah Aungst tallied one goal and one assist for the Cardinals (1-0, 1-0 D-I). Ava Voydik, Danielle High and Riley Ott netted one goal apiece. Lily Fisher and Mya May contributed assists.
Pine Grove held a 32-1 edge in shots on goal against the Blue Devils (0-1, 0-1).
Alyssa Moyer posted the shutout in goal.




Minersville 8, Lourdes 2
MINERSVILLE — Kloee Horoschak and Grace Sterner scored two goals apiece to power Minersville past Lourdes in a Division II match.
Hope Motuk added one goal and two assists for the Miners (3-0, 1-0 D-II). Lea Oshman, Jenna Cullen and Rilynn Brennan had one goal apiece for Minersville.
Payton Egleston and Karmen Schroyer scored for Lourdes (0-2, 0-1).
In goal, Bella Rizzardi made two saves for Minersville; Sierra Balonis stopped seven shots for Lourdes.



Pottsville 11, Marian 0
HOMETOWN — Emma Quirin-Morris had three goals and two assists as Pottsville shut out Marian in a Division I match.
Karlee Kalovcak added three goals, while Riley Davis contributed three goals and one assist for the Crimson Tide (1-1, 1-0 D-I). Bella Wright had one goal and one assist, and Emily Steidle scored one goal.
Rose Russell (zero saves) and Lucy Dougherty (2 saves) combined on the shutout in goal. Katie Knock made 37 saves for Marian (1-1, 0-1).
Schuylkill Haven 13, Weatherly 0
WEATHERLY — Taylor Haag had a big day with three goals and two assists as Schuylkill Haven beat Weatherly in a Division II match.
Audrey Hutchinson added two goals and two assists; Kassidy Fryer had three goals; and Kylie Siket compiled one goal and three assists for the Hurricanes (1-0, 1-0 D-II).
Ally Becker recorded the shutout in goal.
Boys’ Soccer
Schuylkill Haven 3, Minersville 2
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Landon Trostle’s unassisted goal in the second half proved to be the game-winner as Schuylkill Haven edged Minersville in a Schuylkill League Division II boys’ soccer match at Rotary Field.
The Hurricanes (1-2, 1-0 D-II) struck first when James Villella scored off assists by Greyson Murphy and Landon Bayer.
Minersville tied the game on the first of Chase Zimerofsky’s two goals before John Ulsh converted to put Schuylkill Haven ahead 2-1 at halftime.
Zimerofsky equalized for the Miners (1-2, 0-1) in the second half, but Trostle answered with the decisive goal.
Elliot Wehr made 13 saves in goal for the Hurricanes; Robert McGrath stopped three shots for the Miners. Schuylkill Haven outshot Minersville 15-6.
Meadowbrook Christian 3, Tri-Valley 2
MILTON — Nathan Hillard scored both goals for Tri-Valley, but Meadowbrook Christian held on for a non-league victory.
Tyler Mowery assisted on Hillard’s first goal as the teams went to halftime tied 1-1. Hillard connected on a penalty kick in the second half for the Bulldogs (1-1).
