It was a tough week for Schuylkill League teams in the PennLive.com state rankings.
While Schuylkill Haven (6-0) remained No. 1 in Class AA, Williams Valley, North Schuylkill and Marian Catholic all dropped in their respective classifications.
For North Schuylkill, the Spartans (3-3) fell all the way out of the Class 3A poll with their loss to Northwestern Lehigh after being No. 7 last week. North Schuylkill’s three losses are to two teams ranked in the top three in Class 3A — No. 2 Northwestern Lehigh and No. 3 Notre Dame-Green Pond — and Southern Lehigh, which is No. 1 in Class 4A.
Schuylkill Haven (6-0) cemented itself as the top team in the Class AA poll with a 43-29 win over Williams Valley (5-1). The Vikings, who were No. 3 last week, fell to No. 6. Minersville (4-2) remains a Team to Watch in Class AA.
In Class A, Marian (5-1) fell out of the Top 10 with its loss to Minersville but remained a Team to Watch.
