GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Blue Mountain 3, Mahanoy Area 0

ORWIGSBURG — Rachel Moyer had 10 kills, eight digs and one ace to lead Blue Mountain past Mahanoy Area 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 on Thursday in a Schuylkill League Division I girls’ volleyball match.

The Eagles (13-3, 9-3 D-I) have won 10 of their last 11 matches.

Zoe Leibensperger added 10 kills, eight digs and two blocks, while Alexa Marshall posted 17 digs, eight kills and two aces for Blue Mountain.

For Mahanoy Area (9-8, 4-8), Yehilina Reyes made 18 digs; Ava Kowalchick had four kills; Hailey Mroczka notched 16 digs and three kills; and Samantha Price contributed 11 assists and six digs.

Mahanoy Area won JV 2-0.

Pottsville 3, Pine Grove 0

POTTSVILLE — Maggie Brennan celebrated Senior Night with eight kills, eight digs and three aces to lead Pottsville past Pine Grove 25-8, 25-9, 25-10 in a Division I match.

Megan Yost notched her 2,000th career assist, finishing the night with 25 assists and eight digs, while Rhyan Brennan posted 10 kills, four blocks and nine digs for the Crimson Tide (12-4, 10-2 D-I).

For Pine Grove (9-8, 6-6), Molly Drumheller made 14 digs and two assists; Lily Flynn added five kills and two digs; and Bella Kassab had eight digs.

Pottsville won JV 2-0.

Tri-Valley 3, Williams Valley 0

TOWER CITY — Callie Melocheck tallied 23 assists, 22 service points, eight aces, two digs and two kills as Tri-Valley swept Williams Valley 25-14, 25-9, 25-18 in a Division II match.

Lexi Lesher added six kills and six service points, while Liv Lupole posted eight service points, six kills and two digs for the Bulldogs (15-0, 12-0 D-II).

For the Vikings (7-8, 7-5), Hayley Fenalson had five blocks and two digs; Emily Miller made 13 digs and two service points; and Gabrielle Duprez chipped in seven digs and two aces.

Tri-Valley won JV 2-0.

Marian 3, Schuylkill Haven 0

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Isabella Horvat hit four kills and nine aces as Marian rolled past Schuylkill Haven 25-5, 25-11, 25-7 in a Division II match.

Alena Lombardo rapped nine kills, and Kali Grochowski added seven kills and two aces for the Fillies (13-4, 10-2 D-II).

For the Hurricanes (5-10, 4-8), Hannah Nelson had two kills; Lydia Hartz added eight assists and two digs; and Danica Snyder chipped in two kills and two digs.

Marian won JV 2-0.

Nativity 3, Minersville 1

MINERSVILLE — Finley McNamara led the way with 13 kills, four aces, three digs and three blocks as Nativity turned back Minersville 25-14, 19-25, 25-21, 25-13 in a Division II match.

Addison Ricard added 24 assists, nine aces, four digs and two kills, while Amara Miller made eight digs for Nativity (9-6, 8-4 D-II).

For the Miners (2-16, 2-10), Arianna John hit eight kills and five aces; Caty Ilsley had 10 digs, four kills and three blocks; and Bella Cruz contributed 12 digs, 11 assists and two aces.

Nativity won JV 2-0.

Panther Valley 3, Lourdes 0

SHAMOKIN — Caroline Breslin compiled eight kills, 15 service points, two aces and 11 digs as Panther Valley routed Lourdes 25-6, 25-6, 25-8 in a Division I match.

Morgan Orsulak added nine kills, six assists, six service points, three aces and two digs, while JaeLynn Browdy posted three kills, nine assists, eight service points, six aces and two digs for the Panthers (13-1, 11-1 D-I). Other top performers for Panther Valley included Danika Blazosky with 14 assists, six service points, two aces and three digs; Jessica Hackash with six kills, five service points, two aces and six digs; Kathryn Breslin with six kills, four service points and three digs; and Madeline Schirer with 13 service points, two aces and seven digs.

For Lourdes (1-17, 0-12), Bella Cherry made 10 digs; Katie Bobkoski chipped in five digs and two kills; and Bella Hudick added four digs and two kills.

Panther Valley won JV 2-0.

Shenandoah Valley 3, Weatherly 0

WEATHERLY — Brittany Tufts posted 18 assists, three kills, two digs and three aces as Shenandoah Valley downed Weatherly 25-11, 25-11, 25-13 in Division II action.

Jocelyn Chagolla hit six kills and three aces, while Brianna Tufts contributed 10 digs, two aces and two kills for the Blue Devils (7-8, 5-7 D-II).

Abby Weston had 16 assists, five service points and three digs for the Wreckers (1-14, 0-12). Abigail Binder added six digs and two kills, while Kelly Reiner made nine digs for Weatherly.

In a Division I match, Tamaqua defeated North Schuylkill 3-1.
