SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Schuylkill Haven played with passion, power and purpose Friday night — just as head coach Mike Farr hoped — and delivered a statement to close out a special regular season.

The Hurricanes dominated Tri-Valley 55-20 in a Schuylkill-Colonial Blue Division game at Rotary Field, securing their first undefeated regular season since 2008.

“You could feel the emotion in how our guys were playing,” Farr said.

That physicality was on full display through the relentless running of senior standout Colton Reber, who turned in a monster performance with 28 carries for 307 yards, three rushing touchdowns, and a 45-yard pick-six. He scored the game’s opening touchdown on a 4-yard run and never slowed down.

Senior Niko Castillo added to the attack with several tough runs and punched in a 14-yard touchdown of his own.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came when senior offensive lineman Wyatt Keefer was given two carries inside the 6-yard line — the crowd erupting as he powered in on his second attempt for a 4-yard touchdown.

Schuylkill Haven also got scores from senior Adam Balulis on a 26-yard run and sophomore Logan Goad on a 43-yard burst.

Tri-Valley fought back with three touchdowns of its own — two rushing scores by senior Cole Gemberling and a touchdown pass from Trey Porter to Cooper Carl — but the Bulldogs were unable to slow the Hurricanes’ offensive surge.

In a final emotional moment, senior Niko Carestia, who has missed most of the season due to injury, checked in for the final kneel-down with quarterback Max Heim.

“That was very special moment,” Farr said about Carestia.

Both teams now turn their focus to the District 11 playoffs. As it stands, Tri-Valley travels to Marian for a District 2/11 Class A subregional semifinal game Friday, while Schuylkill Haven will be the top seed in Class AA and host Catasauqua in a quarterfinal game Saturday night.
