Fritz garners 1st win as Pottsville coach

 

CATAWISSA RR — A quick start helped Pottsville give Damian Fritz a victory in his first game as the Crimson Tide’s head coach.

Jes Siminitus paced a balanced attack with a team-high 10 points as Pottsville edged Southern Columbia 31-29 on Monday in the Tide’s season opener.

Siminitus had six points in the second quarter as Pottsville built a 20-9 lead at intermission. The Tigers mounted a second-half comeback, but the Tide did just enough to pull out the victory.

Karley Koch added eight points for Blue Mountain, while Hailey Place scored all seven of her tallies in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles hang on.
