HS Swimming Roundup: Klinger breaks Tide diving record in season opener

POTTSVILLE — It didn’t take long for Adam Klinger to start breaking diving records this season.
The Pottsville senior and Seton Hall commit broke his own 6-dive school record as the Crimson Tide defeated Tamaqua 93-48 in a Schuylkill League boys’ swimming dual meet Tuesday at the Ned Hampford Natatorium.
Klinger finished with 278.40 points, eclipsing his own mark set last year. His victory was part of a balanced attack as Pottsville won all 11 contested events.
Jerome Urban (200 free), Noah Bevan (200 IM), Pete Scharadin (50 free), Jamison Walsh (100 free), Logan Strauss (500 free), Ashton Maroukis (100 back) and Killian Bressler (100 breast) added individual wins for Pottsville (1-0, 1-0 SL), which swept the relays.

Nick Weremedic (200 free), David Luna (100 free) and Fabrizio J Mangianello (100 back) added individual wins for North Schuylkill (1-1, 1-1), which won all 10 contested events.

Wolfe touched first in the 200 free and 100 free, while Blozousky won the 200 IM and 100 breast. Tatiana Salefski (100 fly) added an individual win for North Schuylkill (1-1, 1-1 SL), which won six of the 11 contested events.
Lily Brown (50 free, 500 free) was a double-winner for Mahanoy Area (1-2, 1-2), while McKenzie Scully took first in the 100 backstroke and the Bears won two relays.
