Haven, Vikes, Miners combine for 8 picks on offense

Schuylkill Haven, Williams Valley and Minersville possessed three of the most explosive high school football offenses in the state in Class AA this season.

The state’s coaches took notice.

The three Schuylkill League schools combined for eight selections on offense and 10 total on the 2025 PAFootballNews.com Coaches Select Class AA All-State Team that was released Wednesday.

The PAFootballNews.com Coaches Select All-State teams are chosen through nominations and voting done by 321 coaches state-wide and are broken into first and second teams. This season, the Class AA All-State squad featured 75 players. The Class A, Class 3A and Class 5A teams were unveiled Tuesday; the Class AA, 4A and 6A squads came out Wednesday.

On the Class AA All-State team, Minersville quarterback Dante Carr, Schuylkill Haven running back Colton Reber, Minersville placekicker Jordan Bowers and Williams Valley’s Fletcher Thompson (offensive athlete) were first-team selections.

Williams Valley quarterback Brady Shomper, Williams Valley wide receiver Evan Achenbach, Minersville wide receiver Paiten LaPoint and Schuylkill Haven offensive tackle Chase Williams were second-team All-State picks.

Defensively, Williams Valley defensive tackle Camron Green and Schuylkill Haven outside linebacker Niko Castillo were first-team selections.

It’s the second All-State honor this season for Carr, Shomper, Reber, LaPoint, Williams and Castillo, who were named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class AA All-State Team last week.
