Pottsville had swimmers left, Saucon Valley did not.
The Crimson Tide scored a victory in the meet’s final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, to capture a 68-64 win over the Panthers in a non-league girls’ swimming dual meet Saturday morning at the Ned Hampford Natatorium.
Lila Evans (diving), Gianna Laselva (500 free) and Isabella Walchak (100 back) scored individual wins for Pottsville (3-4), which won the meet despite losing eight of the 12 events.
Saucon Valley led 64-60 entering the 400 free relay but didn’t field a relay team. The Pottsville quartet of Eli Kim, Walchak, Catherine Mohl and Laselva raced to victory in 4:44.20 to give the Tide the dual meet win.

TAMAQUA — Shaylee Gormley (200 free, 100 fly) won a pair of individual events and swam on two winning relays as the Blue Raiders outlasted the Falcons in a non-league dual meet.
Gia Clemson (diving), Janna Brown (100 free), Kate Behun (100 back) and Savannah Wilson (100 breast) added wins for Tamaqua (6-1), which swept the relays. The Blue Raiders won nine of the 12 events.
TAMAQUA — Thomas Graham scored Tamaqua’s only victory, placing first in the 100 freestyle, as the Blue Raiders (1-6) dropped a non-league meet with the Falcons.
POTTSVILLE — Spencer Prestileo (diving), Ashton Maroukis (100 back) and Jamison Walsh (100 breast) scored individual victories as the Crimson Tide (5-2) dropped a non-league meet to the Panthers at the Ned Hampford Natatorium.
