HS Boys’ BB Roundup: Nativity edges Haven; Minersville, Tri-Valley roll in league action

POTTSVILLE — Trey Keating and Max Heim fired big blows in the second half for their respective squads.
Keating scored a game-high 26 points and Nativity withstood a furious fourth-quarter push to edge the Hurricanes 58-53 in a back-and-forth Schuylkill League Division II showdown Tuesday atop Lawton’s Hill.
The Hilltoppers built small but steady leads in each of the first three quarters, carrying a 39-31 advantage into halftime and a 52-41 cushion entering the fourth.
Schuylkill Haven responded with its best surge of the night behind Heim, who poured in a team-high 21 points and knocked down three 3-pointers to pull the Hurricanes within striking distance.
Haven trimmed the deficit late, but Nativity answered with timely stops and free throws to close it out. Layne Pasker added 10 points, eight of which came in the final frame, for the Hilltoppers, while Nick Clarke chipped in 12.
Alan Evans netted Schuylkill Haven with 16 points.

Tanner Kolb added 16 points and Terrin Felty chipped in 10 for the Cardinals, who used balanced scoring across all four quarters to fend off a late Mahanoy Area push.
Cam Smith led the Golden Bears with 20 points, while Connor Bowman added 15.
