Lourdes' Hannah Lokitis

Four Schuylkill League girls’ basketball teams RSVP’d on Thursday night that they’ll be in attendance for the league’s postseason party at Martz Hall next month.

North Schuylkill, Schuylkill Haven, Lourdes and Mahanoy Area all clinched league playoff berths with victories Thursday night. The top three teams in each division qualify for the league playoffs, which begin Saturday, Feb. 7, with a boys/girls quarterfinal quadrupleheader at Martz Hall.

The girls’ semifinals are slated for Wednesday, Feb. 11, with the league’s championship doubleheader on tap for Friday, Feb. 13, at Martz Hall.

The girls’ seeds aren’t solidified. North Schuylkill and Schuylkill Haven are tied for the Division I lead with 10-1 records, while Lourdes (11-0) leads Mahanoy Area (10-1) by one game in Division II.

The Spartans and Hurricanes clash Jan. 29 at Schuylkill Haven, while the Bears visit the Red Raiders the same night in Coal Township.

Meanwhile, Tamaqua moved closer to clinching the third spot in Division I with an overtime win over Pine Grove. In Division II, three teams are tied for the third spot with 6-5 records — Marian, Shenandoah Valley and Williams Valley — with three league games remaining.

Here’s a look at Thursday’s action. To read about Mahanoy Area’s win over Williams Valley, visit https://www.t102sportsnow.com/2026/01/22/hs-girls-basketball-patient-mahanoy-downs-vikings-clinches-schuylkill-league-playoff-berth/
