Schuylkill Valley outlasts Tamaqua in marathon walk-off win
SHAMOKIN — The bats came alive early, and Jude Plesnarski set the tone on the hill.
The senior right-hander earned the win, allowing three hits over five scoreless innings while also collecting two hits at the plate as Minersville rolled past Shamokin 12-0 in five innings in a non-league contest Wednesday.
The Battlin’ Miners broke the game open right away, plating five runs in the first inning before adding two in the second and five more in the third to put it out of reach.
Jayce Rizzardi and Jason Correll each drove in three runs, while Garrett Sukeena, Cam Rogers and Aidan Ryan also had two hits apiece. Nolan Plesnarski added a double and scored three runs.

WEST SCRANTON — Landon Trout sparked the offense with a big day at the plate as Pottsville rolled past West Scranton in a non-league battle.
Trout collected three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs as the Crimson Tide built an early lead, answered a five-run West Scranton third, and pulled away with a three-run fourth.
Dom Rynard earned the win, allowing one hit and striking out six over four innings. Brody Hess shut the door with three scoreless innings in relief.
Pottsville finished with 10 hits, with Trout leading the way. Hess and Max Clews each added two hits, while Clews tripled and drove in two runs. Brody Eroh chipped in a double.

Schuylkill Valley 6, Tamaqua 5, 13 innings
LEESPORT — A long, two-day battle ended in dramatic fashion as Schuylkill Valley edged Tamaqua on a walk-off in 13 innings in a non-league contest.
The game, originally suspended Friday, resumed Wednesday with both teams picking up where they left off, while pitchers Jake Yenser and Connor Huggard were given fresh pitch counts for the continuation.
Tamaqua struck first and outhit Schuylkill Valley 11-8, but the Panthers answered with a four-run fourth and eventually tied the game 5-5 in the seventh. The contest remained deadlocked until Derek Grim delivered the game-winning RBI double in the 13th.
Yenser was strong in relief, striking out 12 over 7.1 innings, but took the loss. Gavin Shannon, Landon Kamant, Yenser and Gavan Hess each had two hits for Tamaqua.
