HS Softball: Schuylkill Haven outslugs Marian

HOMETOWN — Alli Scherer went 4-for-5 with a triple, four runs and three RBIs to help Schuylkill Haven outslug Marian 12-7 on Friday in a Schuylkill League Division II softball game.
Scherer also pitched two scoreless innings of relief to wrap up the victory. She struck out three. Joie Schoffstall (7-2) hurled the first five innings to pick up the win in the circle.
The Hurricanes, who have won 9-of-10, scored in every inning but the seventh. They trailed 4-1 after the first inning but chipped away before a five-run fifth inning gave them an 11-4 lead.

Kaitlyn Russo tripled and knocked in two runs for Schuylkill Haven. Aisley Jenan went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI; Lexi Mull went 2-for-4 with a run scored; and Braelynn Strenkoski singled, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Olivia Houvig singled, scored two runs and posted two RBIs for the Hurricanes.

Malina Letcher sparked the Fillies’ offense by going 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. Hailey Treskolasky went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and one RBI. Also for Marian, Kayla Birrer went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Chloe Cannon went 2-for-4.

SHENANDOAH — Cali Laudeman pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking two, to lead Minersville to a Division II victory over Shenandoah Valley at Bicentennial Park.


Kylie Herb homered, drove in four runs and scored three for the Battlin’ Miners. Bella Rizzardi added a 3-for-3 day with a double, three runs and two RBIs, while Rilynn Brennan went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.
Other top hitters for Minersville included Grace Sterner, 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI; Bella Cruz, 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored; and Ava Bosack, 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored.
