HS Softball: Rally in 9th lifts Weatherly to victory

ALMEDIA — Rebecca Caldwell’s three-run home run sparked a seven-run, ninth-inning uprising that propelled Weatherly to an 11-4 victory over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech on Monday afternoon in non-league softball action.

Caldwell finished 2-for-6 with a double and the clutch home run. Abby Weston went 3-for-6 with two runs and two RBIs for the Wreckers. Madison Makowiec also swung a big bat for Weatherly, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored. The Wreckers finished with 12 hits as Elizabeth DiDennaro added a 2-for-5 day with two runs and one RBI.

Abby Binder went the distance in the circle for Weatherly. She allowed just two earned runs while striking out 12 and walking three.
