Defending District 11 Class AA champion Williams Valley was the only Schuylkill League girls’ basketball team to garner a No. 1 seed after District 11 unveiled the brackets for its postseason tournament Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings (16-6) lead a four-team Class AA bracket that also includes No. 2 Marian (13-10) and No. 4 Shenandoah Valley (11-11). That bracket will not play until the semifinal round Tuesday, Feb. 24.

All total, 11 Schuylkill League girls’ teams qualified for the district tournament.

Action gets underway Tuesday with first-round action, followed by quarterfinals Feb. 20-21, semifinals Feb. 24-25 and championship/consolation games Feb. 27-28.

Blue Mountain will be the first Schuylkill League team to hit the court as the No. 8 Eagles (11-11) host No. 9 Saucon Valley (12-11) in a Class 4A first-round game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

First-round games are held at the higher seeds, with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games held at neutral sites. Advance tickets are available online only by visiting the District 11 website, www.districtxi.org.

Advance tickets cost $8 (including fees) unless otherwise noted. Advanced ticket sales will end one hour prior to the scheduled start of the event (if the event is part of a doubleheader/tripleheader advance sales end one hour prior to the first game).

Tickets will be available at the gate for purchase and can be purchased online or with cash, all tickets at the gate are $10. Spectators 65 years of age and older are admitted free with proof of age.
