Schuylkill Haven to take on Holy Redeemer in 3A quarterfinal
Schuylkill Haven’s next stop on the Road to Hershey features a jaunt out Route 443.
The Hurricanes will take on District 2 runner-up Holy Redeemer in a PIAA Class 3A girls’ basketball state quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lehighton Elementary Center. The game will be broadcasted live on T-102 (101.9 FM) with Chaz Hepler and Ty Wartman on the call. (Listen live: https://player.aiir.com/wavt/)
Schuylkill Haven (24-5) advanced with a 52-33 win over Pequea Valley on Tuesday at the Geigle Complex in Reading. The Royals (20-8) reached the quarterfinals with a 67-62 victory over District 12 champion Imhotep Charter.
Friday’s game is a single game at Lehighton. Advanced tickets cost $9 and can be purchased online at www.piaa.org. All tickets sold at the door will cost $10.
Also Friday, Martz Hall will be the site for the PIAA Class 4A boys’ quarterfinal between District 3 runner-up Bishop McDevitt (21-3) and District 4 champion Lewisburg (24-4). Lewisburg just played at Martz Hall, beating Pope John Paul II 64-59 on Tuesday.
